There are times when you need to run, times when you need to pause and never need for anything in-between.

What are you doing here?

will the beast just keep evolving?

I am looking forward to the version next which pulls directly into your brain. Download all your thoughts on to the drive for review later. No need for Dictaphones anymore. Better still, save your thought as videos...if you can dream it, you can watch it later.

time to cook

The hotter the better I say. Let the temperature really soar. Ban air conditioning. Only after we start to have summers which regularly hit the mid 30’s will employers realise that ties and suits are such a joke. On days like today, man are not even wearing their jackets but carrying them in to work with them. Why? Because of habit or silly rules. For all that is sane in the world, ban the useless tie. It was only invented when the cod piece was no longer socially acceptable and they needed another way to draw attention to their genitals.

Hay sunny

I am a great fan of the saying “make hay while the sun shines”, it seems to represent much of the way my mind works. I concentrate on one thing at a time (like most men) and when it is going well I cannot stop. Hey, if the mind is in the right gear and running smoothly, then to interrupt it or break that train of thought would be a great shame.

Where I differ from this saying’s sentiment is that it should not be at the cost of everything else. Being naturally cautious, I hope for the best but plan for the worst. This way you are not surprised by any unforeseen occurrence, you have a path through the forest of trees ahead. What I find amusing is that the above is about little old me dealing with minor issues like a leaky pipe or investing fifty pounds. When you examine a large company and the issues relate the livelihood of its employees or costs that can value in the millions; “making hay while the sun shines” is the only thing they are capable of. That unforeseen bump in the road leads to redundancies, that global adjustment pushes people into shock and panic followed by weeks of re-planning. What do these people do all day? When things were going great why did you not even think that this will end one day and what then?

Spend your companies money as if it was your own, but what if your company has millions? How careful would you be?
